Job summary

Medgar Evers College, part of the City University of New York, is seeking a Facilities Property Specialist to manage fixed assets and property-related financial records. The role supports audits, reconciliations, and internal controls within the Division of Administration and Finance.

The selected candidate will maintain asset records, run reports, and assist with property verifications, transfers, and retirements. A Bachelor’s degree and several years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with four years' related experience required.
• Five years of progressive asset management, financial reporting, or auditing experience.
• Experience with enterprise financial/property systems and learning new platforms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of CUNY policies on property management, procurement, and audits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain property records, ensuring accuracy and audit readiness.
• Enter and retrieve asset data in financial/property systems, ensuring completeness.
• Investigate discrepancies in asset records and report findings.
• Coordinate periodic property verifications and track follow-ups.
• Process documentation for asset additions, transfers, retirements, and changes.
• Prepare routine reports, data summaries, and schedules for management and audits.
• Review documentation for completeness and obtain missing approvals.
• Provide guidance on property-management processes to departments.
• Assist with property-related audits and responses with College offices.
