Weill Cornell Medicine in Midtown, NY seeks an Accounting Specialist for a 2-year appointment to manage fixed assets, support space data management, and compile data for reimbursement filings. The role reports to the Assistant Director and collaborates across Budget and Planning with campus teams.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance/Business Admin and 1–3 years in financial analysis or related fields.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
1–3 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, asset management, space management, compliance reporting or related field.
Experience in higher education, healthcare, research or non-profit environment preferred.
Experience supporting federal cost reimbursement and fringe benefit rate proposals, preferably in a higher education is a plus.

Responsibilities

Maintains Fixed Asset Inventory in compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies; coordinates with third-party consulting firm and oversees asset database maintenance.
Coordinates space functionalization by partnering with faculty, admins and central staff to classify and maintain space data.
Utilize SAP to compile and analyze space-related data required for reimbursement rate calculations and filings.
Assists in preparation and compilation of data supporting reimbursement rate submissions.
Support the Senior Analyst in monitoring fringe benefit costs and related collections.
Prepare ad hoc analyses, reports and reconciliations as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
