Job summary

SLB New Energy & Industrial (NEI) is seeking a Sourcing Lead - Fabrication to develop and execute sourcing strategies for fabricated equipment, engineered components, and integrated assemblies. This role requires strong engineering procurement skills and the ability to read mechanical drawings and evaluate manufacturability.

You will lead supplier selection, sourcing events, and commercial negotiations with a focus on quality, cost, and delivery across a global supplier network,

Qualifications

• Technical Bachelor degree required (ideally engineering).
• Strong technical knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes, including welding, machining, forming, casting, and surface treatment/coating operations.
• Experience assessing supplier manufacturing capabilities, production capacity, and quality systems.
• Solid understanding of mechanical assemblies and systems integration, including skid or module assembly, equipment testing, and commissioning.
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, weld symbols, GD&T, technical specifications, and bills of material (BOMs).
• Proven experience sourcing fabricated equipment, structural components, industrial assemblies, or engineered products in a manufacturing, industrial, energy, or oilfield environment.
• Experience working directly with engineering teams to review designs, evaluate manufacturability, and translate technical requirements into supplier sourcing strategies.
• Engineering, manufacturing engineering, project engineering, fabrication estimating, technical purchasing, or technical sourcing experience is highly valued.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
• Experience working in a global, cross-functional environment with multiple stakeholders.
• SAP experience.
• Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for fabrication, manufacturing, and assembly requirements.
• Lead supplier qualification and bid processes through contract award.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to define sourcing criteria.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to meet quality and cost targets.
• Build and maintain a high-performing supplier network.
• Document supplier decisions and ensure policy compliance.
• Monitor initiatives for on-time delivery and objective achievement.
• Partner with operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain stakeholders to support strategic sourcing.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce waste.
