This role is well suited for candidates with a background in engineering or technical procurement who enjoy working at the intersection of engineering and supply chain. Success in this role requires the ability to understand technical drawings, evaluate manufacturing processes, and engage suppliers on both commercial and engineering-related topics.

As a key partner to Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality, you will evaluate supplier capabilities, review engineering drawings and technical documentation, assess manufacturability, and ensure suppliers can successfully deliver complex fabricated products that meet design, quality, and delivery requirements. You will lead supplier selection, sourcing events, commercial negotiations, and supplier development initiatives to support quality, cost, and delivery objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing projects from supplier identification and qualification through contract award and implementation.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers capable of supporting fabrication, manufacturing, and assembly requirements.
  • Manage supplier bid processes, including requests for information, quotations, and proposals.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, quality systems, and technical readiness to ensure alignment with business requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to define sourcing requirements and supplier selection criteria.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and contracts to achieve quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing supplier network that supports current and future business needs.
  • Ensure supplier selection decisions, contracts, and sourcing activities are properly documented and compliant with company policies.
  • Monitor sourcing initiatives to ensure successful implementation, on-time delivery, and achievement of business objectives.
  • Partner with stakeholders across operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain functions to support strategic sourcing priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase overall supply chain efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Technical Bachelor degree required (ideally engineering).
  • Strong technical knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes, including welding, machining, forming, casting, and surface treatment/coating operations.
  • Experience assessing supplier manufacturing capabilities, production capacity, and quality systems.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical assemblies and systems integration, including skid or module assembly, equipment testing, and commissioning.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, weld symbols, GD&T, technical specifications, and bills of material (BOMs).
  • Proven experience sourcing fabricated equipment, structural components, industrial assemblies, or engineered products in a manufacturing, industrial, energy, or oilfield environment.
  • Experience working directly with engineering teams to review designs, evaluate manufacturability, and translate technical requirements into supplier sourcing strategies.
  • Engineering, manufacturing engineering, project engineering, fabrication estimating, technical purchasing, or technical sourcing experience is highly valued.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Experience working in a global, cross-functional environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • SAP experience.
  • Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
