Job summary

Certified Aviation Services (CAS) is seeking a qualified A&P Mechanic / NDT Inspector to support aircraft maintenance and inspection operations in Birmingham, AL. The candidate must hold FAA A&P certificate and be proficient in nondestructive testing.

The role requires attention to detail, knowledge of NDT methods (eddy current, ultrasonic, radiographic), and the ability to document findings and coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Aircraft inspection or structural maintenance experience.
• Experience with nondestructive testing methods (eddy current or ultrasonic).
• NDT certifications per NAS 410 or SNT-TC-1A written practice.
• Familiarity with FAA regulations and aviation quality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform aircraft inspections to identify cracks, corrosion, fatigue, damage, and other structural discrepancies.
• Conduct maintenance and inspection activities following FAA regulations and company procedures.
• Perform nondestructive testing using approved methods as trained.
• Document findings and maintenance discrepancies accurately.
• Communicate results and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with maintenance personnel to resolve discrepancies.
