The Charleston Place in Charleston, SC invites applications for a Palmetto Cafe Assistant Manager. You will lead dining operations in the absence of the restaurant manager, supervise staff, and coordinate with other hotel departments to market and service group events.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong hospitality experience.
• Recruiting experience preferred.
• Five years of food & beverage experience preferred.
• Two years of progressive management experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and monitor colleagues.
• Prepare daily schedules.
• Ensure consistent quality standards are achieved.
• Calculate servers’ gratuities.
• Perform inventories of food and capital goods; rotate stock.
• Discipline and counsel staff as needed.
• Attend to and anticipate guests’ needs.
• Write and complete reports on colleague and guest activities.
• Oversee cash and credit card transactions.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel amenities, services, outlets, and hours.
• Achieve objectives through direction and delegation.
• Observe standards for image, appearance, and grooming; represent the company professionally.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of guest and hotel information.
