Job summary

Amentum is hiring Aircraft Worker, Line for NAS Oceana, VA. The Aircraft Worker services aircraft, directing parking and movement on the flight line, and performs pre/post-flight maintenance checks, fueling, and ground support tasks. You will maintain records and operate ground support equipment as needed.

Shifts rotate, travel may be required for detachments ashore or afloat; US citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are required. A background check will be completed.

Qualifications

• Shift work and detachments required both ashore and afloat (aircraft carriers).
• Minimum two (2) years of actual and recent organizational level aircraft maintenance experience desired.
• Must have a valid Virginia or North Carolina Driver license (if North Carolina resident).
• Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Direct incoming/outgoing aircraft near terminal or flight line parking area using hand signals to assist pilot's maneuvering.
• Operate ground support equipment such as tow tractors and engine starting units; perform servicing and refueling.
• Perform pre-flight through post-flight maintenance inspections and document servicing in records.
• Inspect aircraft tires and fluid systems; maintain hangar and line cleanliness and safety.
• Assist in towing aircraft and securing aircraft with chocks and tie downs.
