Job summary

ACET is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic III (Team Lead) for the F/A-18E/F fleet on NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach. This hands-on role leads a crew, ensures readiness, and coordinates maintenance to support adversary flight schedules.

The position requires a DoD Secret clearance, 5–6+ years in aviation maintenance (3+ on F/A-18E/F), and mastery of Navy maintenance systems. On-site work with US citizens only.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5–6+ years of aviation maintenance experience with at least 3 years on F/A-18E/F at O or D level.
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required.
• Prior Navy/MC aviation rating at PO2 (E-5) level or higher preferred.
• Mastery of Navy electronic environments, including OOMA/NALCOMIS, DECKPLATE, and JTDI.
• Ability to read and interpret complex aircraft blueprints and technical directives.
• F/A-18E/F CDI, Plane Captain, and specific system operation qualifications desired.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily shift operations, delegate maintenance tasks, and ensure on-time delivery of mission-capable aircraft.
• Supervise O-level maintenance, troubleshoot and align avionics, pneudraulics, landing gear, ECS, and engines.
• Inspect and verify compliance with manuals, log data into OOMA/NALCOMIS.
• Enforce Tool Control Program and conduct FOD prevention walks.
• Provide mentorship and on-the-job training to junior mechanics.
• Coordinate fast-paced launch/recovery ops and cross-decking under varying weather.
