Job summary

Amentum seeks an Aircraft Worker to support NAS Whidbey Island maintenance operations. Responsibilities include pre/post-operational checks, fueling, and performing scheduled inspections to keep aircraft in safe condition.

Candidate must have HS diploma, 3 years related experience, and a secret clearance. Travel and FAA/plane captain qualifications are required for certain assignments; expect a dynamic, safety-focused shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent training/experience and a valid driver’s license required.
• Three (3) years actual and recent related experience in the field.
• An A&P license shall be considered equivalent to three (3) years’ experience within the aircraft field.
• F/A-18E/F and/or EA-18G qualified Plane Captain experience required for assignment as a Line Aircraft Worker.
• Position requires a secret clearance and maintain a Security Clearance and meet physical requirements related to performing daily assigned task.
• Must have a secret clearance and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
• Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
• Position requires travel.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to aircraft following orders of higher-grade worker.
• Replace defective parts and adjust settings as needed.
• Obtain standard parts by referring to parts manuals.
• Service engines and aircraft components to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.
• Perform pre-flight and recovery, launch, and aircraft directing in support of sorties.
• Perform inspections and maintenance IAW MRC and NAVAIR manuals.
• Check for tools or foreign objects that could risk the aircraft or crew.
• Perform pre/post-op checks, fueling, and operation of support equipment.
