Job summary

Amentum is hiring an Aircraft Mechanic II to support U.S. Navy aviation maintenance at NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA. The role involves troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of F/A-18 aircraft and components, plus line supervision tasks.

Requirements include 5 years of F/A-18 flight line experience and Plane Captain qualification. Shift work and detachments may be required; background checks and CAC access may be needed.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of actual and recent F/A-18 flight line and shipboard experience, incl. 3 years as a QA/Line Work Center role.
• Must be F/A-18 E/F Plane Captain qualified.
• Extensive knowledge of daily operational requirements and OOMA procedures.

Responsibilities

• Record and track training and qualifications for Line Work Center personnel.
• Schedule PQS, tests, and board practical sessions.
• Coordinate ramp license scheduling and recurrent requalification tests.
• Maintain Detachments lists and track attendance.
• Ensure safety, quality, and procedure compliance on the shop floor.
