Job summary

Cataract-and-Vision-Center-of-Hawaii is seeking a friendly, professional Optician to join our ophthalmology practice. You will help patients select eyewear that meets their vision needs, lifestyle, and preferences while delivering excellent patient service.

Responsibilities include taking accurate measurements such as pupillary distance, explaining lens options and warranties, verifying prescriptions, processing orders, fitting eyeglasses, and maintaining patient records.

Qualifications

• Experience in optical/eyewear preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with EMR or optical software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with selecting frames and lenses.
• Take pupillary distance and other measurements.
• Explain lens options, coatings, materials, pricing, and warranties.
• Verify prescriptions and process orders.
• Adjust and fit eyeglasses.
• Maintain patient and optical records.
• Provide excellent customer service and create a positive patient experience.
• Assist with inventory management and organize frames and supplies.
• Process payments and assist with insurance or vision plan benefits.
