Job summary

AEG Vision in North Huntingdon, PA is seeking an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care on-site. You will assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and lens treatments while ensuring proper fit and accurate dispensing.

The role requires interpreting prescriptions, using EHR systems, and guiding patients through insurance benefits and warranties. Join a team focused on quality, service, and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor; sales experience preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains customized product recommendations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments including coatings and tints.
• Interpret prescriptions and enter data into the EHR accurately.
• Explain insurance benefits, copays, deductibles, and coverage limitations to patients.
• Ensure proper frame fit and lens dispensing and adjust eyewear for comfort.
