Job summary

LensCrafters, part of EssilorLuxottica, is seeking an EyeCare Advisor to deliver the LensCrafters Experience and ensure high-quality eye care for patients and customers. The role blends retail duties with clinical support in the doctor's office environment.

The position emphasizes greeting customers, processing prescriptions, managing records, and handling eyewear selections and payments. Prioritize accuracy, patient care, and strong communication in a fast-paced store setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greets customers promptly (within 30 seconds).
• Answers the telephone promptly (3 rings) in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Explains required paperwork, tests, products, and services.
• Reviews prescriptions and patient information carefully; identifies special needs and consults with the Optician, Managing Doctor, or Retail Management when necessary.
• Demonstrates patience and courtesy to indecisive or difficult customers and patients.
• Performs work accurately and thoroughly under time pressure and customer volume.
• Identifies situations involving unsatisfied customers and acts quickly to resolve them.
• Demonstrates knowledge of appointment book/scheduling procedures and computer systems.
• Handles and files all patient records in an organized and HIPAA-compliant manner.
• Places contact lens orders, processes shipments, and submits invoices for payment.
• Operates the POS system with accuracy and attention to detail, including patient/prescription data.
• Processes payments following company security procedures and handles various transactions (credit cards, layaways, discounts, insurance, coupons).
• Explains to customers the expected delivery times for One Hour processing.
• Maintains store appearance and ensures displays follow company guidelines.
• Maintains a safe working environment for all associates and patients.
• Communicates store promotions to staff and updates graphics and point-of-purchase materials as needed.
• Demonstrates product knowledge; describes features and benefits of lenses and frames.
• Assists customers in selecting frames and lenses suitable for vision, lifestyle, and budget.
• Performs all pre-examination testing with accuracy and explains measurements to patients.
• Uses clinical and product knowledge to coach patients on care and handling of contact lenses.
• Maintains and disinfects contact lens inventory and provides clinical support to the Optometrist as needed.
