Job summary

Warby Parker in Los Angeles is seeking an Optometric Technician to support eye exams and ensure a stellar patient experience in-store. You will assist with pre-testing, data collection, and patient flow throughout the appointment.

You will help with contact lens training, video-assisted exams where available, maintain precise records, and support the doctor and retail team while upholding privacy and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical environment or eye care preferred.
• Strong communication and patient-relations skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage appointment flow.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between doctor and patient and build rapport.
• Perform preliminary clinical data collection (autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil testing, ocular motility testing, retinal imaging, lensometry).
• Support in-person and video-assisted eye exam appointments as available.
• Train new contact lens insertion and removal techniques and mentor team members as directed by the Store Leader.
• Manage appointment confirmations and follow-up to ensure a seamless experience.
• Efficiently manage patient flow through the eye exam process.
• Maintain accurate records of data collected and assist in report preparation for medical professionals.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA/PIPEDA and company procedures.
• Keep exam room organized, replenish supplies, and maintain equipment; support the retail team as directed.
