Job summary

Cataract & Laser Institute is seeking a Scribe to support physicians during patient exams by transcribing data into the medical record and performing related administrative tasks. Training is provided, and there is room for growth as you develop skills in patient care.

The role involves working with optometrists and ophthalmologists, managing patient flow, scheduling, and preparing exam rooms to maintain a professional, organized environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience in optometry is preferred.
• Proficient in EHR and exceptional keyboarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Enter information into EHR during patient exams as dictated by the doctor.
• Assist optometrist/ophthalmologist with patient procedures.
• Escort patients to Optical and introduce to the Optician and explain doctor’s recommendations.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor flow; communicate delays.
• Prepare exam room and maintain inventory of medications and supplies.
• Provide a clean, safe environment for patients and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
• Supplementary tasks include patient prep for exams and basic tests.
