Job summary

Midwest Eye Consultants is seeking a diligent Scribe to support physicians during patient exams. You will enter data into the patient’s medical record and assist with scheduling, testing, and exam room preparation in a fast-paced ophthalmology clinic.

No prior experience is required; a company-led training program will help you learn the position while you grow in patient care and professional skills. This role offers full benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous experience in optometry preferred.
• Proficient in EHR and medical data entry.

Responsibilities

• During the exam, accurately enter information into EHR as dictated by the doctor.
• Assist optometrist and ophthalmologist with patient procedures.
• Escort the patient to Optical and introduce to the Optician, reiterating the doctor’s recommendations.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.
• Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
• Provide a safe, clean, organized and inviting environment for both patients and staff.
• Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by leadership.
• Supplementary tasks may include preparing patients for eye examinations and performing various tests.
