Responsibilities include performing preliminary testing (visual acuity, tonometry, autorefraction, visual fields), documenting findings in EHR/EMR, educating patients on contact lens care, maintaining equipment, and front desk duties.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as an optometric technician or ophthalmic assistant is helpful but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Experience with EHR/EMR software is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary patient testing including visual acuity, tonometry, autorefraction, and visual fields.
• Accurately document exam findings in EHR/EMR systems.
• Educate patients on contact lens care, insertion, and removal techniques.
• Maintain and sterilize diagnostic equipment and exam room supplies.
• Greet patients, schedule appointments, and manage front desk duties as needed.
