Job summary

Physicians Eyecare Group is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner to join our Albuquerque eyecare center. This part-time, on-site role requires an active NM NP license, a DEA, and 2+ years of NP experience in eye care or integrative medicine.

You will perform comprehensive eye exams, co-manage ocular conditions, and work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care. Concrete responsibilities include ordering imaging, pre-/post-operative co-management, and detailed EHR

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted NP license in New Mexico.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility.
• MSN or DNP from an accredited program.
• Minimum 2 years NP experience; ophthalmology or integrative care preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Proficient in EHR/EMR systems.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams with visual acuity testing and refraction.
• Diagnose and manage common ocular conditions (dry eye, conjunctivitis, blepharitis, glaucoma co-management, diabetic eye disease).
• Co-manage pre- and post-operative care for cataract surgery, LASIK, and other ophthalmic procedures.
• Order diagnostic imaging and ocular testing (OCT, visual fields, fundus photography).
• Refer patients to ophthalmologists or specialists when needed.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the EHR and participate in quality initiatives.
