Job summary

Physicians Eyecare Group in Las Cruces, NM seeks a compassionate part-time Nurse Practitioner to join their eyecare surgical center on-site. The NP will perform comprehensive eye exams, co-manage post-operative care for cataract and LASIK, and collaborate with ophthalmologists in a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate holds an NM NP license, DEA registration, and has 2+ years in primary care or ophthalmology with strong EHR skills. Bilingual preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted NP license in NM.
• Two years NP experience in primary care/ophthalmology preferred.
• MSN or DNP from an accredited institution.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility in NM.
• Strong proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams including visual acuity testing and refraction.
• Co-manage pre- and post-operative care for cataract/LASIK and other procedures.
• Diagnose and manage ocular conditions (dry eye, conjunctivitis, glaucoma co-management, diabetes-related eye disease).
• Order diagnostic imaging and ocular testing (OCT, visual fields, fundus photography).
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the EHR and participate in quality initiatives.
