Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be compassionate and can establish confidence and trust with patients.
• Must have the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure or stress.
• Highly energetic with a positive attitude.
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Create and maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to perform as part of a team as well as work independently.
• One or more years’ experience working in a medical practice preferred.
• Knowledge of medical and vision and insurances preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Experience with NextGen, Microsoft, Clearwave preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients at check-in.
• Verify insurance and manage appointment schedules.
• Collect co-pays and balances accurately.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and clean reception area.
• Answer calls with proper etiquette.
• Travel between locations to support front office operations (if multi-location).
• Work early mornings, late evenings, weekends as needed.
• Assist with inventory of retail items if applicable.
