Job summary

Corning is seeking an engineer to lead extrusion process technologies within Environmental Technologies, supporting daily manufacturing with structured problem-solving and DMAIC methodology.

You will partner with Division Engineering and Development teams on new die introductions, document processes, train operators, and ensure safe, high-quality, repeatable products in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing Technology, or related engineering discipline.
• 1-3 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment and strong mechanical aptitude in machining process engineering.
• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes using Lean, Six Sigma, PCPD, DMAIC and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership for extrusion process technologies and support daily manufacturing operations through structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis.
• Support new die introductions including equipment installation, process certification, documentation, training, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Develop detailed technical documentation for process steps and train operators and trades personnel on new equipment and processes.
• Lead or contribute to projects using DOE, DMAIC and cost-reduction initiatives to drive process and product improvements.
