Job summary

Corning Incorporated in the United States is seeking a Die Performance Engineer to drive die/ forming interactions, improving extrusion performance and quality. You will lead or support long-term die improvement projects and collaborate with CET, Division Engineering and extrusion plants.

The role requires hands-on experimentation, manufacturing experience and cross-functional teamwork across domestic and international sites. Travel <10% and a standard Mon-Fri schedule with occasional extended hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with manufacturing experience.
• 3+ years of process engineering experience.
• Experience in die manufacturing or forming.
• Cross-functional team experience and problem solving.
• Six Sigma/Lean training.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the interface between die manufacturing and CET’s extrusion plants for die performance.
• Provide support for resolution of extrusion performance issues related to dies.
• Support partnership between die manufacturing, extrusion plants and Division Engineering.
• Lead or support projects focused on extrusion cost and capability improvements through dies.
• Author and conduct rigorous experimentation in support of business objectives.
• Engage with Division Engineering, PPD, extrusion plants and business team.
