Corning seeks a Manufacturing Process Engineer to reduce defects by identifying root causes, partnering with suppliers, and ensuring measurement systems meet customer requirements. The role emphasizes data-driven decisions and collaboration to improve processes and products.

Responsibilities include applying DMAIC, statistical tools, and driving improvements in cost, quality, uptime, yield, cycle time, and safety across Corning facilities worldwide, with significant travel as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in chemical, materials, ceramic, mechanical engineering, or computer science.
• 0–5 years’ experience in engineering/manufacturing.
• Proficient in process control / analysis techniques.
• Experience leading projects and using Six Sigma tools.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new processes or improve existing processes.
• Solve problems using structured methods such as KT, DOE, or Six Sigma.
• Implement Process Control and Process Discipline in manufacturing.
• Analyze process data with statistical tools (Pareto, regression, ANOVA, Gage R&R).
• Document processes and train operators.
