Job summary

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company is seeking a customer service associate to support clients with shipments and inquiries. This role is on-site in Chicago, requiring five days per week in the office.

You will manage bookings, coordinate with carriers, and maintain records to ensure data integrity and timely updates. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency in MS Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Experience working in an international environment is a plus.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive client and vendor relationships.
• Attention to detail; advanced communication and customer orientation.
• Proactivity and strong organization; ability to work in a team.
• Proficiency in English and MS Excel is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive assistance to clients, addressing inquiries and concerns regarding shipments while delivering exceptional customer service.
• Maintains meticulous records of customer interactions for management reports and data integrity.
• Communicates with clients via phone and email to troubleshoot and solve problems; builds positive relationships.
• Coordinates bookings and export shipment activities following MSC procedures; assists clients in troubleshooting bookings.
• Maintains close communication with carriers and other agencies to facilitate coordination and provide updates on shipment status.
• Updates records for reports and supports management decisions.
• Presence on-site five days per week.
