Job summary

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company USA Inc. is seeking a customer service professional to provide comprehensive support for shipments, addressing inquiries and ensuring high-quality service. You will work with clients, carriers, and internal teams to coordinate bookings and export activities.

The role requires on-site presence five days a week in Charleston, with emphasis on accurate records, problem solving, and strong client relationships in an international environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent in supply chain, transportation, shipping, logistics, freight forwarding or customer service.
• Experience in an international environment is a plus.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive client and vendor relationships.
• Must demonstrate attention to detail and strong communication.
• Proactive, reliable and well organized with time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients by addressing inquiries and concerns about shipments while delivering exceptional service.
• Coordinate with team and departments to optimize task execution and meet deadlines.
• Escalate complex issues to the supervisor for resolution.
• Manage bookings in the internal system based on client requirements and coordinate export shipments.
• Maintain communication with carriers and agencies for updates on shipment status.
• Update records for reporting and support management decision-making.
• On-site presence five days a week and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary/ Key Responsibilities

Provides comprehensive assistanceto clients, addressing inquiries and concernsregardingtheir shipments while delivering exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction. Maintains meticulous records of customer interactions to uphold data integrity for management reports and consistently meets productivity and service level standards.

• Communicates effectively with clients via phone and email to troubleshoot and solve problems while cultivating positive relationships.
• Collaborates with team members and departments tooptimizetask execution, meet deadlines, andobservecorporate guidelines for addressing customer inquiries; works with departments to amend and fix any discrepancies.
• Escalates unique or complex issues to theappropriate supervisorfor resolution when necessary.
• Handles booking processes in the internal system based on client requirements, updates information accordingly, and coordinates all export shipment activities following MSC procedures; Assists clients in troubleshooting and problem solvingregarding the bookings assigned.
• Maintains close communication with carriers and other agencies involved tofacilitateseamless coordination and provide regular updates on shipment status.
• Updates records for reports as required by management, contributing to informed decision-making.
• Anticipates potential problems anddemonstratesproblem-solving skills to address unforeseen issues, going the extra mile to enhance the customer's experience.
• Presence required on‑site 5 days per week
• Performs other duties as assigned.

This role requires working on-site in the office for five days a week, from Monday to Friday. There is no option for fully remote or hybrid work in this role, unless required off-site duties are being performed.

Qualifications & Key Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree preferredor equivalent experience in a similar role(supply chain, transportation, shipping, logistics, freightforwarding, customer service, etc.)
