Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager to drive export controls, classifications and due diligence. You will navigate EAR/ITAR, sanctions, and global trade rules while enabling rapid innovation.

Engage with engineering, legal, and supply chain to scale compliance across the company. You will lead projects, manage TAAs, and advise stakeholders in a fast-paced US environment, with 5–10% travel domestically as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of export compliance experience in aerospace/defense or related regulated industry.
• Deep knowledge of ITAR and EAR with hands-on USML/CCL classifications and licensing.
• Experience managing TAAs or similar export authorizations.
• Experience with foreign national compliance incl. deemed export determinations and Technology Control Plans.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent written regulatory submissions and documentation experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive development and implementation of export compliance program (EAR/ITAR/Sanctions/Customs).
• Conduct due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, including sanctions screening and license reviews.
• Perform foreign national reviews and export license determinations to support hiring and engagement with international suppliers/customers.
• Provide guidance on EAR, ITAR and sanctions requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, legal, tax, HR, and IT to build scalable compliance solutions.
• Lead continuous process improvements to balance compliance with business needs.
• Own ambiguous cross-functional challenges and drive to resolution with minimal direction.
