Xylem is looking for an Expert Field Service Technician to report to our Orlando location and service our water treatment equipment at customer sites in the surrounding area.

What your day will look like as an Expert Field Service Technician

The Expert Field Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, service, and maintenance of our water purification equipment, utilizing a company service vehicle. Equipment-specific training will be provided. Candidates with previous water treatment, mechanical, or plumbing experience are encouraged to apply.

This position operates on a standard day shift schedule M-F with a compensated on-call rotation and occasional weekends.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks for Expert Field Service Technicians

  • Perform installations, start-ups, tests, troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, and sanitizations of high purity water treatment equipment such as Multimedia Filters, Carbon Beds, Water Softeners, Reverse Osmosis, Nano Filtration, Continuous Deionization, Resin Bed Deionization, Ultraviolet Sterilization, and Final Filtration, including Industrial and Laboratory Water Purification Systems.
  • Install and maintain three-phase and single-phase pumps, including replacing mechanical seals.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs and complete complex PVC and CPVC piping projects.
  • Read and interpret Electrical Wiring Diagrams and perform low voltage wiring.
  • Provide semi-complex training to customers on products and services, documenting all work performed.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of replacement parts and tools.
  • Identify problems and take appropriate steps to resolve piping, electrical, and mechanical issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service and identify sales opportunities for new equipment, expendables, or service contracts.
  • Follow an after-hours on-call schedule and respond promptly to minimize customer downtime.
  • Coordinate with customers to schedule service and installations.
  • Maintain company service truck and a clean driving record.

Position Requirements for Expert Field Service Technicians

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • 5-7 years of technical experience, including industrial or commercial process water experience
  • Basic controls ability (PLC)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and smart devices
  • Ability to work in a high customer-facing position
  • Ability to identify and remedy safety concerns
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screens, MVR, and DOT physical
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 50% or more daily travel

Salary range: $55,300.00 - $88,500.00
