Job summary

Camp because I said I would seeks an Event Manager to be the primary contact for guests from reservation to departure. You will coordinate retreats, weddings, and on-site events at our 92-acre camp, partnering with staff, vendors, and clients to deliver exceptional hospitality and well‑organized experiences.

The role is hybrid with a strong on-site emphasis; evenings and weekends are required based on event schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and executing events, including large-scale events of 200–300 guests and 10–50 events annually.
• Demonstrated experience providing exceptional guest service and hospitality.
• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in business, event planning, hospitality management, communications, or a related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of comparable professional experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, competing deadlines, and detailed guest requirements.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
• Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
• Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce and booking platforms such as Airbnb, Vrbo, or similar reservation systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute approximately 30 corporate and nonprofit retreats annually.
• Coordinate guest reservations, calls, changes, and special requests; ensure prompt service.
• Ensure facilities and accommodations are prepared for arriving guests in collaboration with staff.
• Support sales processes for retreats and on-site events with the business development team.
• Coordinate about eight weddings annually and manage planning details.
• Oversee end-to-end event logistics from preparation through completion.
• Maintain accurate guest records and feedback for continuous improvement.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support Camp operations.
