Job summary

SGS Consulting is seeking an experienced Event Manager to lead end-to-end planning and production for corporate events in the Sacramento area. The role requires strong project management, AV coordination, and vendor negotiation to deliver high-quality experiences.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners, manage budgets, and ensure events align with stakeholder objectives while maintaining timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communication or marketing required.
• Proven professional experience in event management, marketing events, experiential marketing, trade shows, or related field.
• Experience managing events independently from planning through execution.
• Experience coordinating teams with multiple stakeholders, vendors, agencies, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute end-to-end event planning and production activities.
• Independently execute events or collaborate with internal and external teams.
• Serve as the primary contact for assigned key event projects.
• Understand stakeholder objectives and translate vision into event experiences.
• Manage all aspects of event functions and operational roles as needed.
• Develop event scopes, budgets, plans, timelines, and execution strategies with internal clients.
• Plan and coordinate multiple events and projects simultaneously.
• Source, negotiate, and manage vendors for staffing, décor, AV, food & beverage, and more.
• Provide pre-event planning and onsite support for major events.
• Travel as required for events; may include weekends and holidays.
