Job summary

Moore Tires in Mendota, IL is seeking an Experienced Tire Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive vehicles, perform tire mounting, alignments, and routine maintenance, and respond to road service calls as needed.

You'll work in a family-owned shop offering training and opportunities, with benefits including health insurance, 401(k) with company match, PTO, and uniforms. A valid driver's license and a High School diploma or GED are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; some automotive repair training may be beneficial.
• Ability to diagnose and repair automotive systems and tires.
• Willingness to learn and develop further in automotive service.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive vehicles and equipment.
• Test drive vehicles after repair to ensure quality and safety.
• Inspect engines and mechanical/electrical components to identify issues.
• Perform oil changes, brakes, suspension work and other routine maintenance.
• Mount and dismount tires and assess treadwear and valve quality.
• Ensure conformance to industry standards and safety protocols.
• Provide preventative maintenance and respond to road-call needs as required.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive vehicles and various types of equipment.
• Ability to test drive all vehicles repaired.
• Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
• Oil changes, brakes, suspensions & other mechanical work
• Conduct routine maintenance work aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity.
• Assess tread levels and valve quality on tires & check wear patterns.
• Mounts/demounts tires
• Ensures conformance to industry standards
• Examines and repairs tires;
• Performs preventative maintenance; and responds to emergency road calls as needed.
• Perform vehicle alignments

Requirements

• Education and/or Experience: Must meet or exceed standards set by the industry recognized trade organizations. High School diploma or GED preferred. Must have some or limited training in automotive repair, with demonstrated ability and desire to learn and develop further in this area.
• License/Certification: Valid driver's license required.
• Computer Skills: Entry level knowledge of computer equipment and applicable software applications.
