Job summary

Moore Tires in Kewanee, IL is seeking an experienced Tire Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles, mount/demount tires, and perform routine maintenance. You will work with a team that values learning and growth in a family-owned shop.

Qualifications

• Must meet or exceed industry standards and be willing to learn.
• Entry level knowledge of computer equipment and software applications.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive vehicles and equipment.
• Test drive repaired vehicles to ensure proper operation.
• Inspect engines and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues.
• Oil changes, brakes, suspensions, and other mechanical work.
• Perform routine maintenance to ensure vehicle longevity.
• Mounts/demounts tires and assess tread wear.
• Perform vehicle alignments and respond to emergencies as needed.

Duties

• Ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive vehicles and various types of equipment.
• Ability to test drive all vehicles repaired.
• Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
• Oil changes, brakes, suspensions & other mechanical work
• Conduct routine maintenance work aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity.
• Assess tread levels and valve quality on tires & check wear patterns.
• Mounts/demounts tires
• Ensures conformance to industry standards
• Examines and repairs tires;
• Performs preventative maintenance; and responds to emergency road calls as needed.
• Perform vehicle alignments

Requirements

• Must meet or exceed standards set by the industry recognized trade organizations. Must have some or limited training in automotive repair, with demonstrated ability and desire to learn and develop further in this area.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Entry level knowledge of computer equipment and applicable software applications.
