Job summary

Moore Tires in Mendota, IL seeks an Experienced Tire Tech to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles and equipment. You will test drive repaired vehicles, inspect engines and mechanical components, and perform oil changes, brakes, suspensions, and tire-related work.

Applicants should have high school level education, a valid driver's license, and basic computer skills. Training and opportunities for ASE certifications are available as part of the benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Must meet industry standards for automotive repair with willingness to learn.
• Valid driver’s license required and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive vehicles and equipment.
• Test drive repaired vehicles to ensure proper function.
• Inspect engines and electrical/mechanical components to diagnose issues.
• Oil changes, brakes, suspensions, and other mechanical work.
• Perform routine maintenance for vehicle longevity.
• Assess tires for tread and wear, mount/demount tires.
• Ensure conformance to industry standards and repair tires as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance and respond to road calls as required.
• Conduct vehicle alignments.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive vehicles and various types of equipment.
• Ability to test drive all vehicles repaired.
• Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
• Oil changes, brakes, suspensions & other mechanical work
• Conduct routine maintenance work aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity.
• Assess tread levels and valve quality on tires & check wear patterns.
• Mounts/demounts tires
• Ensures conformance to industry standards
• Examines and repairs tires;
• Performs preventative maintenance; and responds to emergency road calls as needed.
• Perform vehicle alignments

Requirements

Education and/or Experience: Must meet or exceed standards set by the industry recognized trade organizations. High School diploma or GED preferred. Must have some or limited training in automotive repair, with demonstrated ability and desire to learn and develop further in this area.

License/Certification: Valid driver’s license required.

Computer Skills: Entry level knowledge of computer equipment and applicable software applications.
