Job summary

Moore Tires in Rock Falls, IL seeks an Experienced Tire Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles, mount/demount tires, perform alignments, and conduct routine maintenance to ensure safety and longevity. Must be willing to learn and work in a team.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred; industry training encouraged.
• Must have some automotive repair training with willingness to learn more.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive vehicles and equipment.
• Test drive vehicles after repairs.
• Inspect engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues.
• Perform oil changes, brake work, suspensions and other mechanical tasks.
• Conduct routine maintenance for vehicle functionality and longevity.
• Assess tires for wear, mount/demount tires, and ensure tread quality.
• Ensure conformance to industry standards; examine and repair tires.
• Perform preventative maintenance and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Perform vehicle alignments.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive vehicles and various types of equipment.
• Ability to test drive all vehicles repaired.
• Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
• Oil changes, brakes, suspensions & other mechanical work
• Conduct routine maintenance work aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity.
• Assess tread levels and valve quality on tires & check wear patterns.
• Mounts/demounts tires
• Ensures conformance to industry standards
• Examines and repairs tires;
• Performs preventative maintenance; and responds to emergency road calls as needed.
• Perform vehicle alignments

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Must meet or exceed standards set by the industry recognized trade organizations. High School diploma or GED preferred. Must have some or limited training in automotive repair, with demonstrated ability and desire to learn and develop further in this area.

License/Certification

Valid driver's license required.

Computer Skills:

Entry level knowledge of computer equipment and applicable software applications.
