An excellent, well‑resourced special school in Yeovil is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant. Candidates may have previously worked as a support worker, in‑class support worker, or a Learning Support Advisor (LSA). Holding a related qualification or possessing relevant experience will also be considered. The role supports children with a range of special educational needs including learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), sensory, speech and language impairments, and behavioural difficulties.
The school enjoys positive feedback from parents and supply staff. The staff team is supportive and welcoming. The school is easily accessible by public transport and requires a commitment of five days a week. Full‑time candidates may be considered for a higher rate of pay.
Applicants should be confident in adapting lesson activities to meet individual pupil needs, and in creating and maintaining a stimulating learning environment that enables pupils to achieve and thrive.
We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates as they are currently under‑represented at this level.
