Our Critical Care Units (Intensive Care /ICUs) across 9 hospital campuses provide care through a multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach. Clinical excellence and patient safety are our top priorities. The Registered Nurse in the ICU is responsible for delivering high-level care, assessments, and coordinating team efforts for critically ill patients across their lifespan, utilizing the nursing process.
Positions may be available on various shifts, including weekend options and per diem. Full-time positions are 36 or 40 hours per week; part-time positions are less than 36 hours per week; and per diem requires a minimum of 2 shifts per month. Applicants must be able to complete initial classroom orientation followed by unit orientation.
A minimum of one year of critical care nursing experience is required. An individualized orientation program is provided. Current BLS certification is mandatory. Nurses with less than one year of experience are encouraged to visit our internship page: https://www.slhn.org/nursing-opportunities.
Must hold a current Registered Nurse license to practice in Pennsylvania or New Jersey (Warren Campus).
Must be able to sit up to 2 hours per day, stand for up to 10 hours, walk for 6 hours, and frequently lift objects up to 10 lbs. Occasionally lift up to 75 lbs and transport patients up to 500 lbs. Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, perceive through touch, hear, and see as required for general, near, far, color, and peripheral vision.
