Our Critical Care Units (Intensive Care / ICUs) are located across nine hospital campuses, providing care through a multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach. Clinical excellence and patient safety are our top priorities. The Registered Nurse in the ICU is responsible for delivering high-quality care, conducting assessments, and coordinating team efforts to care for critically ill patients across their lifespan.
Positions may be available on various shifts, including weekend options and per diem. Full-time positions are 36 or 40 hours per week; part-time positions are less than 36 hours per week. Holiday and weekend requirements vary by unit and policy. Per diem roles require a minimum of 2 shifts per month. Applicants must complete an initial 7-day classroom orientation followed by unit-specific orientation.
Minimum of one year of critical care nursing experience required. An individualized orientation program is provided. Current BLS certification is mandatory. Nurses with less than one year of experience are encouraged to visit our internship page: https://www.slhn.org/nursing-opportunities.
Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania or New Jersey (Warren Campus) is required.
This role involves sitting up to 2 hours daily, standing for up to 10 hours, walking for 6 hours, and occasionally lifting up to 75 lbs. The ability to transport patients weighing up to 500 lbs and perceive attributes through touch, hearing, and vision is necessary.
