Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years experience in phlebotomy.
• High school diploma or equivalent recommended.
• Certification in phlebotomy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and collects specimens as ordered, ensuring proper consent when required.
• Maintains accurate documentation and logs per QA program.
• Ensures supplies are stocked and viable for patient collection.
• Sends specimens to reference laboratories for tests not performed in-house.
• Processes in-house and incoming lab reports and orders.
• Identifies and bands patients for blood product transfusion as needed.
• Operates laboratory equipment and maintains work area per guidelines.
• Complies with OSHA and universal precautions; handles hazardous materials safely.
