Job summary

BayCare Health System in Florida seeks an experienced RN to independently care for a sub-specialty patient group in the operating room, following the nursing process and clinical standards.

The RN will delegate appropriate patient care activities to other health care team members and maintain professional accountability, with duties as preceptor and charge nurse when assigned. Minimum two years RN experience; 1 year OR experience preferred; full-time, in-person at Winter Haven / Bartow campuses.

Responsibilities

• Provide RN-led care for a sub-specialty patient group using the nursing process and clinical standards.

• Maintain professional accountability and participate in ongoing development per standards of a national organization.
• Serve as preceptor and charge nurse when assigned.

Position Details

• Location: Polk County Hospitals - Winter Haven Hospital and Bartow Regional Medical Center
• Status: Fulltime
• Available Shifts: 10 hr - Variable start 6:30am-9:30am (Winter Haven Hospital); 6:30am-3:00pm (Bartow Regional Hospital) and 6:30am-5:00pm (Bartow Regional Hospital)
• On Call: Yes
• Always in person

Summary

• RN independently cares for a sub-specialty group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• RN delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• RN is responsible for professional accountability and development according to best practice standards set forth by a nationally recognized specialty organization
• RN also performs the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned

This position requires a minimum of two years of experience as an RN. For this position, we strongly prefer at least 1 year RN experience in the Operating Room for consideration.
