Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking an Operating Room RN for BayCare Hospital Wesley Chapel in Wesley Chapel, FL. The role requires strong clinical and leadership skills with 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM shifts and in-person duties.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid RN license and BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required if department requires.
• Minimum of two years acute care RN experience; OR interventional/procedural experience.
• Operating Room experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for a sub-specialty group of OR patients with effective nursing leadership.
• Serve as mentor and resource for the nursing team and preceptor as assigned.
• Uphold professional standards and professional accountability per recognized guidelines.
• Act as role model and share information across team members.

Summary

The Operating Room RN responsibilities include:

• Proficient in the care of a sub‑specialty group of patients utilizing effective managerial skills
• Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team
• Is responsible for professional accountability and development according to best practice standards set forth by a nationally recognized specialty organization
• Acts as a mentor and resource expert, supports and shares organizational information to all team members
• Performs the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned

This position requires a minimum of two years of RN experience. For this position, we strongly prefer at least 1 year of Operating Room experience as an RN for consideration.
