Job summary

Blythe Construction is seeking a Loader Operator to join our field crew in South Carolina. The role requires operating a range of heavy equipment to excavate, move, and grade earth while ensuring safe day-to-day operation and ongoing maintenance needs.

The candidate should have substantial experience in heavy equipment operation, be able to understand and follow job site directions, and communicate with supervisors and crew members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; 5+ years of industry related experience required for this Loader Operator position.
• Must understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees.
• Must understand the different signals used to signal operators of construction machinery.
• Physically able to perform duties in outdoor environments, with exposure to noise, grease, and dust.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment and machinery daily for safe operation and maintenance needs.
• Operate heavy equipment (dozers, scrapers, loaders, excavators, tractors, front loaders, back hoes) to excavate, move, and grade earth.
• Coordinate with crew members to ensure alignment and movement to meet grade specifications.
• Turn valves to control air and water outputs of compressors and pumps.
• Adjust control wheels, handles, and pedals to drive machinery and operate attachments like blades, buckets, scrapers, and swing booms.

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred

5+ years of heavy equipment operating experience
