Job summary

Blythe Development is seeking a General Laborer to support highway and heavy construction projects in the Charleston, SC area. In this hands-on role, you will perform strenuous physical labor, assist with traffic-control devices, and help keep jobsites clean and safe.

You will follow safety procedures, work with a crew, use hand and power tools, and adapt to varying locations and shifts while contributing to on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform strenuous labor.
• Experience using hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to work safely in a team-oriented construction environment.
• Ability to follow supervisor instructions and safety procedures.
• Willingness to work varying schedules and locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical labor on highway and heavy construction sites.
• Prepare jobsites by clearing areas and assisting with traffic control.
• Dig and backfill trenches and assist with grading and drainage.
• Safely use hand and power tools for tasks.
• Guide equipment operators and maintain safe clearances.
• Remove rubble and keep site and tools clean.
• Follow foreman instructions and safety policies.
• Report unsafe conditions and equipment concerns.
• Work cooperatively with crew to complete tasks safely and on schedule.
• Adapt to changing project locations, schedules, and weather.
