Atomic Transport, a leading local bulk hauling company, is seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to join our team in the Southeastern U.S. We offer steady schedules, competitive wages, and comprehensive benefits for full-time drivers and technicians.

Responsibilities include performing repairs on trucks and trailers, performing maintenance, and using engine diagnostic software. Valid CDL-A is a plus; own basic tools required. Occasional travel to Wilmington, NC may be needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or technician.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, exhaust systems, and diagnostic tools.
• Must have own basic hand tools.
• Occasional travel to Wilmington, NC required.
• CDL A preferred, but not required.
• Welding experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers.
• Knowledge of Exhaust Aftertreatment Systems.
• Knowledge of engine diagnostic software.
• Conduct regular maintenance and service trucks.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Diagnose problems and plan repairs.
• Perform road-side service calls.
• Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks.
• Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles.

Overview

At Atomic Transport, we take pride in being a leading local bulk hauling company based in Chattanooga, TN. With a dedicated fleet of company-owned assets and W2 drivers, we specialize in waste transportation from local transfer stations to landfills. We operate a fleet of over 600 tractors and 900 trailers, including top-tier models from Kenworth, Freightliner, Mack, and Western Star. Our trucks are powered by reliable Cummins X15, MP-8, and DD-13 engines, ensuring performance and efficiency across all operations. With over 25 terminals across the Southeast, Midwest, and West Coast, Atomic Transport is rapidly expanding and we’re looking for passionate individuals to grow with us. We’re currently seeking a skilled mechanic to join our team. Schedule: Monday-Friday [Every other Saturday]

Requirements

• Have a valid driver's license.
• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or technician.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, exhaust systems, and diagnostic tools.
• Have your own set of basic hand tools.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Occasional travel to Wilmington, NC required.
• Pass pre-employment screening (drug test and background check).
• Class A CDL preferred, but not required.
• Welding Experience preferred, but not required.
