Kleinfelder in West Des Moines, IA seeks a Civil Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team on municipal and environmental projects. You will collaborate with CAD Technicians and office staff while developing plans, reports, and project schedules.

The role requires a Civil/Environmental degree, 5–10 years of design experience, and a PE license or the ability to obtain one within a year. Strong communication skills are essential for success at Kleinfelder.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering is required.
• 5–10 years of civil engineering design experience preferred.
• Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred.
• Experience with roadway, storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water distribution design is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare or modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and cost estimates for public works projects.
• Coordinate with Construction Observers and Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.
• Assist Project Manager in completing projects within budget and on schedule.
• Provide client contact and attend board or council meetings.
