Job summary

Walden Security seeks experienced Court Security Officers to provide armed security at courthouses under the USMS contract. Typical duties include entrance control, roving patrols, stationary posts, escorted transport for judges and court personnel, and maintaining order within court facilities.

Qualifications include a GED, three years of verifiable law enforcement or military experience, English proficiency, a valid driver's license, and DOJ clearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; at least three years of verifiable law enforcement or military experience within the last seven years.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English; able to understand and apply rules and procedures.
• Valid driver's license; clean driving record for past five years; DOJ clearance; graduation from certified law enforcement training academy.
• Must be at least 21 years old; able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform entrance control using screening equipment and item checks.
• Roving patrols of court facilities and grounds.
• Stationary post assignments monitoring CCTV, duress alarms and security devices.
• Provide armed escort duties for judges and court personnel when directed.
• Direct traffic and manage parking and pedestrian flow at court facilities.
• Enforce federal law and protect government employees and property.
• Prepare reports on incidents, hours worked, accidents, and security issues.
• Secure unattended courtrooms and inspect rooms prior to proceedings.
• Preserve order within courtrooms and enforce court rules and orders.
