Job summary

PetSmart’s Assistant Store Manager Customer Experience leads the pet parent journey with exceptional service and a culture of teamwork. You will drive daily operations, coach teammates, ensure safety and high-quality care, and uphold PetSmart’s values across all store activities.

In this full-time role, you’ll manage staffing, performance, and customer interactions while partnering with store leadership to meet goals and deliver memorable experiences for pet parents and their families.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of retail leadership or customer-focused experience.
• Full-time availability; evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency with computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach store associates and manage staffing.
• Recruit, interview, hire, coach, and terminate as needed.
• Oversee associate development and onboarding.
• Ensure customer and pet parent experiences meet standards.
• Maintain store standards and policy compliance.
• Lead store events and marketing initiatives.
• Ensure safety and pet welfare in daily operations.
• Drive store P&L performance and expense control.
