Job summary

PetSmart’s Assistant Store Manager Customer Experience leads the store team to deliver exceptional pet parent experiences, while upholding company values and strategies. You’ll drive daily operations, coach associates, and ensure safety, service, and merchandise standards across the store.

You will manage staffing, promotions, events, and customer interactions, balancing financial goals with a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. Strong communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of retail leadership or experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Leads the associate experience, coaching, onboarding, and development to ensure high performance.
• Oversees customer experience across store operations, services, and events.
• Drives store P&L, monitors expenses, and collaborates with home office for store initiatives.
• Schedules staffing, delegates tasks, and ensures safety and policy compliance.
• Ensures a culture of empowerment and strong communication with the team.
