Job summary

PetSmart’s Assistant Store Manager Customer Experience leads the team to deliver outstanding pet parent experiences while upholding our culture and standards. You’ll drive daily operations, coach associates, and ensure safety and care for pets across services, events, and promotions.

The role emphasizes people leadership, managing store performance, and collaborating with partners to meet business goals with a commitment to service excellence.

Qualifications

• 3 - 5 years of retail leadership or experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Leads the store experience and pet parent interactions across channels to ensure safety and satisfaction.
• Recruits, interviews, hires, coaches, and terminates staff as needed.
• Coordinates staffing coverage for experience activities in pivotal areas of the store.
• Oversees store events and marketing execution including adoptions, training and services.
• Drives store P&L, manages labor and consumables, and controls store metrics.
• Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and safety for pets in our care.
