Job summary

PetSmart is seeking an Assistant Store Manager focused on delivering exceptional customer experience and a safe, engaging store environment. You will lead the team, oversee daily operations, and collaborate with store leadership to drive sales and maximize pet parent satisfaction.

You will manage staffing, coach associates, and ensure adherence to policies while delivering a welcoming experience across services such as grooming, training, and adoptions.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of retail leadership or experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability; ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Participates in hiring, interviewing, coaching, and performance management.
• Facilitates associate development, onboarding, mentoring, and growth.
• Delegate and validate daily tasks to meet store and pet parent needs.
• Lead experiences for pet parents across services and events.
• Ensure store standards, policies, and code of ethics are followed.
