Desert 5 Spot in Washington, DC is seeking an Expeditor to ensure smooth flow between front and back of house. The role sets the pace for the kitchen and ensures orders are prepared and served with the correct priority.

Candidates should have experience in high-volume restaurants, excellent listening and communication skills, and a flexible schedule that includes Fridays and Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient flow of orders from servers to kitchen.
• Ensure orders are prioritized so all dishes are ready for a table at the same time.
• Assist in final preparation of dishes.
• Check dishes for accuracy, presentation, and temperature.
• Inquire about any allergy or dietary restrictions from each guest served.
• Provides an accurate description of dishes delivered.
• Possesses in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus.
• Ensure adherence with Department of Health and Company sanitation standards.
• Maintaining cleanliness by picking up any debris or spills/grease on the floor.
• Communicate needs of the guests to FOH & BOH staff, managers, and Chefs.
• Mark shared dishes with the appropriate utensils.
• All other duties as assigned.
