Job summary

The Longboard Sullivan’s Island is seeking an Expo team member to bridge kitchen and dining room, delivering knowledgeable, friendly service in a high-volume setting. You will help manage station flow, communicate with chefs, and ensure orders are prioritized and presented to our standards.

Ideal candidates are hospitality-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating with a large team to create memorable guest experiences. On-site role at Sullivan’s Island, SC.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across a team setting.
• Collaborative attitude to work with front-of-house and back-of-house.
• Strong organization and attention to detail in service flow.
• Able to adapt quickly in a dynamic, high-volume dining environment.
• Familiarity with health, safety and sanitation basics.

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, energetic and thoughtful service at all times.
• Control the flow of service between kitchen, servers, and guests.
• Ensure orders are prepared with correct priority and timing.
• Mark tickets to Ballast’s standards and assist in garnishing plates.
• Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation, and temperature.
• Communicate with Head Chef and BOH about kitchen issues and updates.
• Transfer important information between kitchen and servers/bartenders.
• Ensure compliance with operational standards and local laws.
• Follow company policies and maintain professional conduct.
• Speak fluently on ingredients, sourcing, allergens, and preparations.
• Prioritize multi-tasking and adapt to shift priorities.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support floor team as needed.
• Address guest feedback or operational challenges with management.
• Maintain clear, respectful communication with all team members.
• Prepare stations and stay organized to handle rush periods.
• Know the Longboard story and what makes us tick.
• Show up with sharp appearance and follow dress code.
